It’s probably not a very big surprise that I was always a Toys ‘R Us kid growing up! Unfortunately, over time the big box stores like Walmart and Target swooped in and took a big piece of that pie by offering a smaller selection of toys at a cheaper price, nearly wiping stores 100% dedicated to nothing but toys clear off the map…
But for me, Once Upon a Toy is kind of like the Toys ‘R Us of Disney World – sure, things are a little more expensive than you’ll pay online or at Walmart, but the selection is great and let’s face it, sometimes it’s fun to just be constantly surrounded by toys as you explore one room after another throughout the store! My personal favorite sections are the Mr. Potato Head display at the front of the store where one can create their own Mr. Potato Head set with even a few Disney-specific pieces that you won’t find anywhere else, and also the media section a few rooms away because it’s a fun opportunity to check out the latest Disney video games coming down the pipeline.
Really, the only thing missing is a section devoted to LEGOs, although thankfully not far away they’ve got an entire store just for that which seems to do just fine on its own! Have to remember that one for a future Favorite Favorites…
